The boards are available in either S4S (surfaced on four sides) or S1S2E (surfaced on one side and two edges) rougher head only product, which means that they can be purchased with a smooth, finished surface or with rougher texture. The "FJEG" indicates that the boards are finger-jointed and edge-glued, meaning smaller pieces of wood are joined together to create longer boards free of knots or defects. No other patterns are available.
Ponderosa Pine FJEG refers to Finger-Jointed Edge Glued lumber made from Kiln dried and Heat treated wood. We produce this in the same specification as in solid lumber. Due to the manufacturing process of fingerjointing the grade always exceeds the WWPA grade rule.
Clear grade Ponderosa Pine FJEG means that the lumber is free of knots, defects, and other imperfections that would affect its appearance. This grade is commonly used for applications where the lumber will be visible, such as furniture, cabinetry, and interior trim.
WWPA Alternate Board Rules construction refers to lumber that is manufactured and graded in accordance with the Western Wood Products Association's (WWPA) Alternate Board Rules grading system. This system allows for some defects and imperfections in the lumber while still ensuring that it is suitable for a specific application. The lumber is graded based on its strength and stiffness, as well as any visual defects.
WWPA Standard refers to lumber that is manufactured and graded in accordance with the WWPA's Standard grading system. This system is more stringent than the Alternate Board Rules system and requires lumber to be free of knots and other defects that would affect its strength or appearance. WWPA Standard lumber is commonly used for applications where strength and appearance are both important, such as structural framing, decking, and exterior trim.
